I bought my first guitar from a record
shop in Manchester when I was 17, got together with a few mates, and
learned a few songs to play at a street party on the Queen’s jubilee
day, we went on to form a gigging band which went through a few changes
and names including...V.S.M, The Puzzlers and No Sweat.
I have had a few lessons including, rock, fingerstyle and some
classical, but I am mainly self-taught.
My influences include....Genesis, Deep purple, Pink Floyd, The Beatles
and E.L.O to name but a few.
My guitars include...A Suhr Pro Strat,
and a T.C Ellis Mantis, and I play through a Laney 212 V.C 30 combo.

songwriter who had an album out and I remembered being huddled
around a little transistor radio listening to his single "Who is
the hero" being played on Radio One. Nearly went on tour to
America but that's another story. Had a 27 year break, started
playing again with a band called "Smithy Yard" and am now with a
great bunch of lads in Mind The Gap."
"I have 2 x Fender Precision bass
guitars, one with Seymour Duncan pickups and a white '65
replica, I use an Ashdown 250W Combo with a
Boss TU3 tuner and a Boss OC3."
to learn to play when I was eleven, joined my first
band when I was thirteen, “Nursery Rhymes”. from Marple.
Hopped from one band to another until I joined “The Blue’s Venders” from
Hazel Grove, we were together five or six years and played all over the
